About PK1293 Vojnův městec

The club of pétanque fans PK 1293 Vojnův Městec was established in late 2002. The first and longtime president of the club was Oldřich Brož (senior), an icon of this exciting game here in the region. Besides him, Vlastimil Vejmělek and Karel Malivánek belonged to the most successful players from the beginning. Some very good players from the near-by village Sněžné left the club to establish thein own local club PEPA Sněžné in 2006.

Traditionally, we organize three petanque events of broader relevance, i.e., tournaments officially recognized by the national petanque association ČAPEK: “Easter Egg” and “Vajta’s Boules” (Spring and early Summer) and “The Boule of St. Venceslas” (early Autumn). Regional qualification rounds of the Czech national championship also occasionally take place here. The club also organizes smaller events of local relevance.

Vojnův Městec is a village in the Vysočina (Highland) region, not far from the lake Velké Dářko and the highest Vysočina mountain Devět skal (Nine rocks). Weather is not so friendly here as elsewhere, the petanque season is thus slightly shorter. However, we have a nice playground, specifically designed for petanque, good atmosphere and excellent kitchen during the events. Therefore, you are welcome to come and play, perhaps you will come back again and again.
